Last weekend was Roswell's busiest stretch of the Halloween season. Chattahoochee Nature Center ran Halloween Hikes on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The City of Roswell filled the East Roswell Recreation Center with its free Halloween Fun House on Friday. Canton Street had the Roswell Woman's Club Sip & Stroll on Sunday afternoon. All three wrapped up by Sunday night, Oct. 25.
Halloween is still two days away. It falls on a Saturday this year, and the Roswell Journal's 2026 Halloween guide notes that the city's website lists no official trick-or-treat hours, so trick-or-treating that night goes by neighborhood custom. What's left from tonight through Saturday looks different from last weekend. It's smaller, more of it happens at night, and it's spread across Historic Roswell, Southern Post, Holcomb Bridge Road and the river. Pick your stops by day and by hour.
What already ran, so you can stop looking for it
Some of the October listings still circulating are for events that are already over:
- Halloween Hikes, Chattahoochee Nature Center, 9135 Willeo Road: Oct. 23 to 25
- Halloween Fun House, East Roswell Park, 9000 Fouts Road: Friday, Oct. 23, 4:30 to 7 p.m.
- Sip & Stroll on Canton Street: Sunday, Oct. 25, 2 to 6 p.m.
- Trunk or Treat, Northminster Presbyterian Church, 2400 Old Alabama Road: Sunday, Oct. 25
The Halloween season isn't over, though. The rest of it just moved indoors and later in the evening.
Thursday night is for the stage, not the street
The two Thursday picks are both seated, both start at 7 p.m. and both run on a ticket.
Tuned to Terror is at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, 950 Forrest St. Atlanta Radio Theatre Company performs three Halloween radio plays live, and tickets are $17, according to the Roswell Journal. It's the only event this week built around Halloween as a story rather than a costume.
Art Around Sessions: Akpé Motion is at Mimosa Hall & Gardens on Bulloch in Historic Roswell. The quartet draws on musical traditions from Africa, Polynesia, the Americas and beyond. Roswell365's listing prices tickets at $36.61 with tax and fees and says they include wine, nonalcoholic drinks and light refreshments. Roswell365 gives the address as 127 Bulloch Ave, and Visit Roswell lists it as 127 Bulloch Drive. Check your ticket confirmation before you set your map.
Akpé Motion is on this list because Thursday is the last quiet evening before two busy nights, and it fills the same 7 p.m. slot as the radio plays.
Friday splits four ways, and all four are cheap or free
Friday, Oct. 30, has the most options of any night this week, at four venues in different parts of town. Three of them are free.
| Event | Where | Time | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Halloween Silent Disco | Gate City Brewing Company, 43 Magnolia St. | 7 to 11 p.m. | Free, all ages |
| Southern Post Fall Movie Night | Southern Post, 1035 Alpharetta St. | 6:30 to 8:30 or 9 p.m. | No price listed |
| Cody Bolden & The Roadhands | From The Earth Brewing Company, 1570 Holcomb Bridge Road | 8 p.m. | Free |
| BOO Y'aLL scarecrow winners announced | Canton Street | Friday | Free to view |
The Halloween Silent Disco at Gate City is the one Friday event that's clearly about Halloween. It has a costume contest and a food truck, and the Roswell Journal lists it as free and open to all ages. That makes it the best Friday fit for a household that wants the costumes out a night early.
Southern Post's Fall Movie Night has no set film. The event page asks guests to vote on a fall classic and to bring a blanket. Southern Post's page lists an 8:30 finish, while Visit Roswell's listing says 9 p.m. Either way, it ends early enough to work with younger kids.
Cody Bolden & The Roadhands play From The Earth Brewing on Holcomb Bridge at 8 p.m. Roswell365 describes the band as an Atlanta country outfit mixing traditional country, ballads and honky-tonk, with free admission. It's the farthest of the four from Canton Street and has nothing to do with Halloween, so it suits anyone who wants a regular Friday night out.
Friday also closes out the BOO Y'aLL scarecrow contest. The Roswell Woman's Club puts scarecrows from businesses, schools, nonprofits and families on Canton Street all month. Voting at $2 a vote closes Oct. 29, and winners in four categories are announced Friday, Oct. 30. The club says the money funds nonprofit grants, teacher grants and scholarships. If you've walked past the scarecrows for weeks, Friday is when you find out which ones won.
Saturday runs on a clock: the river by day, Canton Street by afternoon, the block at night
Halloween itself has a clear order, with each piece starting later than the one before.
- 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Chattahoochee Nature Center. The center's Halloween Treat offers free admission to anyone in costume, according to the Roswell Journal and the nature center's event page. It's Saturday's morning anchor for costumed kids, on the same Willeo Road grounds that held the ticketed Halloween Hikes a week earlier, now with free admission for costumes. The center doesn't allow pets other than service animals, so leave the costumed dog at home.
- 3 to 10 p.m., Canton Street. The third annual Roswell Boos & Booze Halloween Bar Crawl checks in at North End Kitchen & Bar, 1170 Canton St., with registration from 3 to 6 p.m. Bar Crawl USA lists stops at North End Kitchen, The Vick, Stout Brothers, Madrid Tavern, Ipp's Pastaria, Ceviche, Lola's Tequila Bar, The Artillery Room and Gate City Brewing, with an after-party at Rock N Taco. There's also a costume contest and drink specials. The price depends on where you look. Bar Crawl USA's ticket listing showed $21.41 with fees and tax, and Visit Roswell's page lists $18. If you're planning dinner on Canton Street that night, expect those ten spots to be busy with crawlers in costume through the evening.
- After dark, your own street. With no official trick-or-treat hours on the city's site, start and end times are up to each neighborhood. Whatever your HOA newsletter or neighborhood group chat settles on is the schedule that counts.
The overlap that matters is the bar crawl running alongside trick-or-treating. Families heading to Historic Roswell for an early dinner on Saturday will be sharing Canton Street with the crawl from mid-afternoon on.
Sunday gives the hour back, and the next Thursday picks up the thread
Daylight saving time ends Sunday morning, Nov. 1, the Roswell Journal notes. Clocks fall back one hour the morning after a late Halloween, and evenings get dark noticeably earlier the next week, just as Roswell's calendar moves from costumes to tastings.
Two events on Thursday, Nov. 5, show that shift:
- Four Wines. One Journey. at Madrid Spanish Taverna, 1055 Canton St., Suite 110, pours Spanish old-vine wines with small bites. Tastings run $35 to $50, and no reservation is needed, per Roswell365. It starts at 4 p.m. Roswell365 says it runs until close, while Visit Roswell lists 4 to 6 p.m. Arrive early to be safe.
- Speed Puzzling at the Mimms Museum of Technology and Art, 5000 Commerce Parkway, runs 6 to 8:30 p.m., with admission at $18 according to Visit Roswell. The listing invites teams to compete.
Madrid Spanish Taverna sits on the same Canton Street strip where Saturday's crawl checks in. The same block goes from a costume crowd on Halloween to a weeknight tasting five days later.
If you need a plan for Halloween weekend or the quieter early-November weeks after it, the team at TC Temple follows Roswell's calendar closely and is happy to share what we hear about upcoming events. Let's Connect.
